In Dubai, a traffic court has imposed a fine of Dh3,000 on a motorist who lost control of his vehicle and triggered a three-car crash, leaving two people injured.
The driver admitted to veering to the right and striking two other cars in quick succession, but tried to shift some blame onto one of the other drivers.
Prosecutors charged him with causing injury by mistake and property damage, saying he drove carelessly and failed to keep proper attention to road conditions.
Evidence presented to the court – including the police report, an accident sketch and the driver’s own statement – confirmed his negligence: the sudden swerve led directly to the collision, injuring two individuals and damaging all three vehicles.
The court rejected the motorist’s claim that another driver shared responsibility, finding no supporting evidence and describing the attempt as casting doubt on credible facts.
